diviner [B]/ 4K video, stereo sound, 16’38’’, collaboration w. Gabriele de Seta/ reflecting on evolution, manipulation and entropy, working with a breed of speckled chicken and machine learning; diviner [A] and [B], oscillate between narratives concerning the image, the archive, technology, society and polarisation. As ‘staged’ models – in their respective formats – [A] and [B] internalise questions on authenticity, the record, automation and the duplicate; where the image as medium is considered through its elasticity - extending as both inner and outer imagery, lived and imagined realities – but also through levels of heritage. Embracing chance, while discussing levels of control - parts of the book and the video alike, have been generated using Markov chains. The black and white image, or thought –truth or fiction– is positioned amidst nuances of grey, objects in dissolution or conflict, strict or stuttering voices – pointing to complexities bound to the medium as well as to living matter.
