Evolved from the character of an oyster, – Shaven takes on a dubbed voice to enter states of fiction and animation. Reflecting on it’s own anatom while simultaneously speaking of itself as both tongue and eye. The synced voice was realized trough a playback of the monolgue, using the sound vibrations to cause motion in the bodys liquids and soft parts.
The monologue of the character – which was developed in collaboration wit opera singer Kristine Nowlain – uses a voice which deploys from experimentation. Focusing on the mouth; as speaker, breathing organ and vocal instrument – the work touches upon subjects of claustrophobia, origin and lonliness.
