Evolved from the character of an oyster, – Shaven takes on a dubbed voice, entering animation. Reflecting on it’s own anatomy while simultaneously speaking of itself as both tongue and eye – the synced voice was realized trough a playback of the monolgue, using the sound vibrations to cause motion in the bodys liquids and soft parts. The monologue – which was developed in collaboration with opera singer Kristine Nowlain – deploys from experimentation. Focusing on the mouth; as speaker, breathing organ and vocal instrument – touching upon subjects of claustrophobia, origin and lonliness.
