In my works, I consider the human body as a ‘stage’ – a place where residues of society and history are manifested – where levels of the imaginable play out, through acting and animation. From my point of view, we are open seams; leaking, and the embodiment a two fold, pending in simultaneous exposure and harbouring. Perception and language are motors for my pieces, examining the voice, the gaze, gestures and postures while interlacing archive material and ‘facts’ with fiction. Treating voyerism and witness statements, fascist narratives of purity and touch, as well as incomprehensible orality and borders of make-sense – references run between literature, historical events and politics, as well as theatre and film traditions.  The mise-en-scène and ideas of ‘a backstage’ are central, not only via enactment, set designs and the archive, but in ways of reflecting on the mind – its capability to secret thought, imagination and memory.  Linking imagery, text and objects, in montages, assemblages, publications and installations, I look at my pieces as ’situations’ or ‘composed readings’ – often placing the viewer in a speculative and ambiguous narrative.
